Frequently Asked Questions

Mama Maids maintains professional liability, general liability and is bonded. This means Mama Maids shoulders the brunt of any accident or damage. Bonded also protects clients from any unethical employee behavior.

Independent housekeepers are generally significantly less in pricing due to multiple factors. The client is paying less money for the risk of hiring an untrained and uninsured household employee.

There is no insurance if an independent housekeeper is injured or hurt on a client’s property. Personal home insurance policies will not normally cover independent housekeeper injuries due to the liability issues of an uninsured contract employee working in the home.

Independent housekeepers are not background-checked, bonded, or professionally trained.

The client is responsible for submitting a 1099 to the IRS for the household employee. Failure to do so may result in back taxes owed.

At Mama Maids, we handle all of the legalities, professional training and insurance needs of the clients.

Mama Maids requires an Initial Deep Clean before any recurring services are scheduled. After the Initial Deep Clean, recurring Maintenance Clean services can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on your individual needs and budget.

Deep Cleans are more time-consuming and detail-oriented than general maintenance cleaning.

While Deep Cleans are assigned a certain time allotment, occasionally we will come across additional areas that need special attention. If additional time is needed to be purchased, Mama Maids will contact you BEFORE any continued cleaning or additional time for approval.
